The amendment which came into force on January 29, 2022 changes also the law on visa and Pole’s Card proceedings.
13. Shorter waiting period for the issuance of a student visa
How it was so far: A foreigner applying for a Polish student visa had to wait for the decision in the matter for up to 60 days from the day s/he submitted the form with all required documents.
How it’s about to be: Consul will now have to issue a decision on the visa in 30 days from the day the form with all documents required was submitted.
14. Facilitations in the proceedings on issuance of Pole’s Card
How it was so far: A foreigner who wanted to have a Pole’s Card had to submit to a Polish Consul (or Podlaski Voivode – if s/he was a Belarus citizen) documents proving his/hers belonging to the Polish nation, the relation with Poland, knowledge of Polish language, etc. The documents usually submitted were baptism certificates, military record books, school diplomas, own and ascendants’ marital status certificates.
How it’s about to be: Among the accepted documents, we will now find grandparents’ and parents’ Pole’s Card, which will make it easier to prove foreigner’s belonging to the Polish nation.
